What is
Marriage & Family Therapy?
Marriage and family therapy is an area of mental health which uses the systemic approach when working with clients on a wide range of mental health issues, marriage issues, family issues, career, life transitions, and other personal concerns.
Vicki J. Cathcart, M.Div., MMFT, LMFT
Marriage & Family Therapy Associate
In addition to education, clinical traning, and licensing as a Marriage & Family Therapist, Ms. Cathcart is also a certified teacher, and an Ordained minister.
Ms. Cathcart has 15 years of classroom experience teaching children from Grades 3 through 7. Her experience as a teacher allowed her to easily transition to therapeutic work with children using Play Therapy and CBT techniques.
Experiences as Rev. Cathcart include performing duties as an Elder of a mega-church and serving as hospital and hospice Chaplins. These experiences honed her natural tendency as an empathetic listener and provided a natural transition to therapeutic work.
Ms. Cathcart is a widower and the proud parent of two adult sons and six grandchildren. In addition to her education and professional experiences, she brings a wealth of personal and spiritual experiences to the therapy room. She is well qualified to provide support and therapeutic help to individuals from all walks of life who are struggling with a variety of life issues and mental health challenges.
